Are you charismatic enough to be a successful leader? You don’t have to shout or show off to be charismatic. Charisma is often seen as an intangible concept that unconsciously attracts a negative reaction in the world of business. There is a stereotypical image that a charismatic leader is a confident extrovert with a big personality. Even if charisma can be taught, (and many research papers indicate that you either have it or you don’t) the question is: how important is charisma for leadership success? Life puts layers onto individuals, much like paint. Year after year, more layers are added until you no longer know how deeply buried the authentic you is. It’s time to start celebrating the real you! In Charismatic to the Core, Nikki Owen strips away the unwanted layers and takes you back to your authentic self. It is a revelation, a rebirth, a realisation that life can be on your own terms. Your leadership impact can be whatever you desire it to be. When you are being true to who you really are at your core, your charisma shines through.

We say that someone has charisma when they can attract, inspire and influence people through their personal qualities. We think that this is a special power some fortunate individuals have that makes them able to affect and influence others at a deep emotional level, to communicate effectively with them and make interpersonal connections. But very few of us understand what charisma really is. It is not widely-applauded magnetism or shallow charm. Rather, it's the deep-rooted powerful charisma that helps people deliver incredible results. This charisma is a learnable skill. It's the result of developing specific behaviours, which are proven to improve not only how people feel about you, but which will help others change their own behaviours and achieve success. Charismatic Leadership will show you how to be a powerful influencer with your peers, your colleagues and your customers. You'll learn why charisma is a vital asset in any organization, understand its essential components, find out how to grow your charismatic presence and discover why you need the companion skills of coaching, problem-solving and empathy. Using charisma effectively helps everyone perform at a high level. This book will show you how.

What if charisma could be taught? The charisma myth is the idea that charisma is a fundamental, inborn quality—you either have it (Bill Clinton, Steve Jobs, Oprah) or you don’t. But that’s simply not true, as Olivia Fox Cabane reveals. Charismatic behaviors can be learned and perfected by anyone. Drawing on techniques she originally developed for Harvard and MIT, Cabane breaks charisma down into its components. Becoming more charismatic doesn’t mean transforming your fundamental personality. It’s about adopting a series of specific practices that fit in with the personality you already have. The Charisma Myth shows you how to become more influential, more persuasive, and more inspiring.

This 2000 book analyses the revival of charismatic Protestant Christianity as an example of globalization. Simon Coleman shows that, along with many social movements, these religious conservatives are negotiating their own interpretations of global and postmodern processes. They are constructing an evangelical arena of action and meaning within the liminal, chaotic space of the global. The book examines globalization not only as a social process, but also as an embodied practice involving forms of language and ritualized movement. Charismatic Christianity is presented through its material culture - art, architecture and consumer products - as well as its rhetoric and theology. The book provides an account of the incorporation of electronic media such as television, videos and the Internet into Christian worship. Issues relating to the conduct of fieldwork in contexts of globalization are raised in an account which is also a major ethnography of a Faith ministry.
