Thomas Grimsley, who probably immigrated to Virginia, acquired land there in 1676 in old Rappahannock (later Richmond) County. He died after 1708. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama and elsewhere.

John Powers (d.1824) lived in Virginia before 1787, and married Nancy Hunter in 1801 in Ohio County, Kentucky, Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Texas, California, Washington and elsewhere.

William Gosney, son of Henry Gosney, was born in about 1705, probably in Virginia. He married Mary in about 1726 in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.

Bethuel Riggs was born in 1757 in Mendham Township, Morris County, New Jersey. He married Nancy Lee in about 1779 in WIlkes County, North Carolina. They had nine children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri and Texas.
