The current study focused upon the contention that organizations have become too structured (bureaucratic) with resulting negative effects upon employee motivation. The purpose of this study is to establish the validity of this hypothesized inverse relationship, along with the extent to which this relationship remains significant...The general research question involved in the current study may be stated thus: Is there an inverse relationship between bureaucracy and motivation? More specifically, as bureaucracy increases, will motivation decrease?
