A woman should be a jewel to a man as she is to God. She is as precious as a ruby. She is strength to her husband and a nurturer to her children. She is the key to the success of any prosperity for her husband. She is priceless. Proverbs 18:22 KJV declares, A man that findeth a wife; finds a good thing then obtains favor of the Lord. First, the woman has to be found. Second, she needs to be ready to be that good thing in his life. Finally, the man will obtain favor of the Lord. Every man or woman wants the favor of God to be poured on him or her. A woman is the one who has the ability to birth, because God gave her the womb. He also gave her pushing power, which gives her the ability to have endurance to stand with her husband. Often during the journey, we wonder if we are married to whom God chose for us. God loves us so much that he gave us free will and still helps us along the way. Many women choose the wrong men to marry. Often as women, we look for love in all the wrong places. The worst thing is to be in the hands of a man who cannot drive. In other words, he cant lead you anywhere in life. However, there are all kinds of different reasons why men cant drive us to our destinies in God. Reading this book will help you acknowledge where you are in your marriage. If youre single and waiting to be married, it will help you find out what lives in you that needs to delivered. Two reasons a man cant drive; because he doesnt know how to lead or because a broken woman will not let him. This book covers every aspect of a womans life from brokenness to abuse. This book allows you to re-evaluate how you choose who you spend your life with; verses who you settle for. This book allows you to look deeper within your relationships, marriage, or singleness. It may answer why you are going through what you are going through. The Author speaks to her readers as if she is sitting down talking to them face-to- face.

A “scrupulously honest” (O, The Oprah Magazine) debut memoir that explores one man’s gender transition amid a pivotal political moment in America. Becoming a Man is a “moving narrative [that] illuminates the joy, courage, necessity, and risk-taking of gender transition” (Kirkus Reviews). For fifty years P. Carl lived as a girl and then as a queer woman, building a career, a life, and a loving marriage, yet still waiting to realize himself in full. As Carl embarks on his gender transition, he takes us inside the complex shifts and questions that arise throughout—the alternating moments of arrival and estrangement. He writes intimately about how transitioning reconfigures both his own inner experience and his closest bonds—his twenty-year relationship with his wife, Lynette; his already tumultuous relationships with his parents; and seemingly solid friendships that are subtly altered, often painfully and wordlessly. Carl “has written a poignant and candid self-appraisal of life as a ‘work-of-progress’” (Booklist) and blends the remarkable story of his own personal journey with incisive cultural commentary, writing beautifully about gender, power, and inequality in America. His transition occurs amid the rise of the Trump administration and the #MeToo movement—a transition point in America’s own story, when transphobia and toxic masculinity are under fire even as they thrive in the highest halls of power. Carl’s quest to become himself and to reckon with his masculinity mirrors, in many ways, the challenge before the country as a whole, to imagine a society where every member can have a vibrant, livable life. Here, through this brave and deeply personal work, Carl brings an unparalleled new voice to this conversation.

New Testament scholars typically assume that the men who pervade the pages of Luke's two volumes are models of an implied "manliness." Scholars rarely question how Lukan men measure up to ancient masculine mores, even though masculinity is increasingly becoming a topic of inquiry in the field of New Testament and its related disciplines. Drawing especially from gender-critical work in classics, Brittany Wilson addresses this lacuna by examining key male characters in Luke-Acts in relation to constructions of masculinity in the Greco-Roman world. Of all Luke's male characters, Wilson maintains that four in particular problematize elite masculine norms: namely, Zechariah (the father of John the Baptist), the Ethiopian eunuch, Paul, and, above all, Jesus. She further explains that these men do not protect their bodily boundaries nor do they embody corporeal control, two interrelated male gender norms. Indeed, Zechariah loses his ability to speak, the Ethiopian eunuch is castrated, Paul loses his ability to see, and Jesus is put to death on the cross. With these bodily "violations," Wilson argues, Luke points to the all-powerful nature of God and in the process reconfigures--or refigures--men's own claims to power. Luke, however, not only refigures the so-called prerogative of male power, but he refigures the parameters of power itself. According to Luke, God provides an alternative construal of power in the figure of Jesus and thus redefines what it means to be masculine. Thus, for Luke, "real" men look manifestly unmanly. Wilson's findings in Unmanly Men will shatter long-held assumptions in scholarly circles and beyond about gendered interpretations of the New Testament, and how they can be used to understand the roles of the Bible's key characters.
