Current CDF b-physics results are presented. The analysis is based on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.4 pb−1 recorded with the CDF detector in 88--89 at the Fermilab Tevatron p{bar p} collider (√{bar s} = 1.8 TeV). Preliminary results include the differential cross section {sub dPt}/{sup d{sigma}(b)}, some reconstructed exclusive B-decays, a limit for the rare decay B° →??− and a measurement of B{bar B}-mixing parameters. Finally we will discuss the prospects concerning b-physics for the next data run which will start in February 1992. 12 refs., 8 figs.

Heavy Flavors covers the proceedings of the Third Topical Seminar on Heavy Flavors, held in San Miniato, Italy on June 17-21, 1991. The book focuses on the reactions, properties, characteristics, and transformations of heavy flavors. The publication first offers information on flavor factories and monochromatization as the way to maximum luminosity B-factories, as well as design strategies and parameters, requirements, luminosity limitations, and B-factory with monochromatization and vertical separation. The book then ponders on theoretical results in heavy quark hadroproduction; heavy flavor production at high energies; and leptonic decay constants of heavy mesons. The book examines heavy baryon transitions and the heavy quark effective theory; non universality of nucleon sea distributions probed by neutrinos and muons; and heavy flavor physics at hadron colliders. The publication is a dependable reference for readers interested in the study of heavy flavors.

B-physics results from the CDF Collaboration based on data collected during the Tevatron run 1A and 1B are presented. In particular we discuss the measurements of B meson masses and lifetimes, the limits set on rare B decay branching ratios and B{sub o}{bar B}{sub o} mixing results obtained with both time-integrated and time-evolution analysis. We use the current results to extrapolate CDF B-physics prospects to the end of run 1 and to the future high luminosity run II.

Between 1992 to 1996, the CDF experiment has collected a data sample of 110 pb−1 of p{bar p} collisions at (square root)s = 1.8 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron. In the year 2001 the Tevatron will commence p{bar p} collisions again at (square root)s = 2.0 TeV delivering an integrated luminosity of 1 fb−1 per year. In the mean time the CDF detector will have undergone substantial upgrades which will allow for a rich B physics program with unique capabilities. In this paper we discuss the B physics prospects at CDF with the data that will be collected during this upcoming Tevatron run.

In March 2001, the Fermilab Tevatron will start a new physics run of p{bar p} collisions at (square root)s = 2.0 TeV. The CDF experiments will collect a data sample of 2 fb−1 in the first two years. In this paper the authors describe the B physics prospects at CDF during the upcoming run.
