If you're looking for a story about some guy who was the last American out of Saigon or who killed six insurgents trying to set up an IED in Mosul, Any Road is not the book you want. If you want to read about an ordinary man as much as any man can be called 'ordinary' trying to deal with PTSD, trying to reconcile his beliefs, and trying to serve his country as best he can under extraordinary circumstances, you will love this story.
