The 41st volume of Annual Review of Gerontology and Geriatrics, "Black Older Adults in the Era of Black Lives Matter," reflects an important moment in the continuing development and maturation of research and scholarship on the lives of older Black Americans. Enormous advances in our knowledge of genetic contributions to aging and disease, and in our understanding of the potential for manipulation of the aging process, have taken place during the past 20 years.
