Die hohe Bedeutung der Enzyme in der gesamten Natur rechtfertigt demnach auch vollkommen die mannigfachen, zumal in neuerer Zeit in verstarktem Masse vorgenommenen Untersuchungen uber ihr Wesen und ihre Wirkungsweise. Aus demselben Grunde sind auch selbst kleinere Beitrage zur Enzymfrage nach der Ansicht des Verf. keineswegs unerwunscht. In der vorliegenden Mitteilung sucht uns nun der Verf. einen Beitrag bezw. Vorsehl age betreffs der Nomenklatur der Enzyme zu geben und man kann dem Verf. nur beipflichten, wenn er diese Nomenklatur als eine vielfach immer noch recht verworrene bezeichnet. Deshalb wird vorgeschlagen, die Namen der Enzyme, soweit nicht etwa bei einigen, wie beispielsweise dem Invertin, Emulsin, My rosin, der Zymase u. s. w. eine Veranderung sich furs erste als uberflussig erweist, aus zwei Worten zusammenzusetzen, deren erstes das von dem Enzym angegriffene Substrat benennt, wahrend das zweite auf die von dem Enzym als ausschliessliches oder doch als wesentliches Produkt abgeschiedene Substanz hinweist. Hiernach waren also z. B. die nachstehenden, teils schon isolierten, teils aber auch nur vermuteten Enzyme etwa folgendermassen zu bezeichnen: namlich mit Amylo-Gtycase ein Enzym, das aus Starke liefert: d-Glycose; Amylo-Maltase - Maltose; Dextrino-Glucase Dextrmo-Maltase Cellulo-Glycase Malto-Glycase Trehalo-Glycase n Lacto-Glycase Melibio-Glucase Eaffmo-Melibiase r Mebcito-Turanase n Stachyo-Galaktase ...
