I slapped him on the face when he was raping me. “Why me?” I asked him with the blood falling down the corner of my mouth. He bit my lips as I shouted for help. “Do not hurt my sister again. Leave the man who doesn’t love you.” I had a boyfriend, and this man’s sister had the same affection towards him. To help his sister, he chose to warn me in such an evil way. I couldn’t lose my lover because he was the only light in my world. But I couldn’t shut this light with my darkness. On a rainy day, I asked for a breakup with him. I didn’t deserve him. He should marry a perfect girl, an intact girl. What tortured me more was that after our breakup, he married that demon’s sister, who was the beginning of my nightmare. I must leave, but every time I ran away, I was chased by the man who forcefully mated me, “You can never leave my control”, he whispered by my side.

"I'm getting a life's lesson about grace from my mother in the ICU. We never stop learning from our mothers, do we?" UNFORGETTABLE is a son's spirited, affecting, and inspiring tribute to his remarkable mother and the love between parent and child. When NPR's Scott Simon began tweeting from his mother's hospital room in July 2013, he didn't know that his missives would soon spread well beyond his 1.2 million Twitter followers. Squeezing the magnitude of his final days with her into 140-character updates, Simon's evocative and moving meditations spread virally. Over the course of a few days, Simon chronicled his mother's death and reminisced about her life, revealing her humor and strength, and celebrating familial love. UNFORGETTABLE, expands on those famous tweets to create a memoir that is rich, deeply affecting, heart-wrenching, and exhilarating. His mother was a glamorous woman of the Mad Men–era; she worked in nightclubs, modeled, dated mobsters and movie stars, and was a brave single parent to young Scott Simon. Spending their last days together in a hospital ICU, mother and son reflect on their lifetime's worth of memories, recounting stories laced with humor and exemplifying resilience. UNFORGETTABLE is not only one man's rich and moving tribute to his mother's colorful life and graceful death, it is also a powerful portrayal of the universal bond between mother and child.

Claire surrendered her body to Duhet, but swore he’d never break her spirit. What she didn’t know was that the real Duhet had been abducted, and his American twin brother, Adam Dillon, was installed in his place as a spy. This is a story about a woman who runs for President of the United States. It involves international intrigue, alliances with Canada, a contest with the sitting President over whether to enter into a skirmish in an Eastern European country, and a former lover who ends up running against her. There is time spent in New York State on the campaign trail, debates with political rivals, a conflict against the possiblilty of an Arab alliance with a Central American country, dealing with oil exploitation in the Yukon, interplay with the campaign commitee, and encounters with the press, as well as an attempt on her life. The plot is high concept with dense plotting, but with light moments such as sexual interludes and one slapstick party scene involving a prime minister, a couple of senators, and a reporter. The writing is in the tradition of a carefully detailed plot, drawn out sparingly in a sensitive internal monologue, with a compelling love story and a personal encounter with the abortion issue.
