From 2008 to 2010, AA Bronson and Peter Hobbs collaborated to convene small groups of men in various locations throughout Canada and the United States in a secret group ritual known as "Invocation of the Queer Spirits." Invoking the queer and marginalized histories of each site in celebrations of sexuality and memorialisation, the groups performed something that Bronson has characterized as "a hybrid between group therapy, ceremonial magic, a séance and a quilting bee." Queer Spirits explores all five performances in five chapters of photographic essays together with a brilliant and frequently humorous reflection on queer animals, forest rangers, shamanism and alfresco sex by Peter Hobbs.

Examining the career of Indigenous artist Brian Jungen, this gorgeously illustrated book highlights his ability to transform everyday objects into extraordinary sculpture. Born in the remote northern community of Fort St. John, British Columbia to an Indigenous mother and a Swiss-Canadian father, Brian Jungen's dual heritage often provides the themes and subject matter for his work. Over the past twenty years, he has created an extensive and imaginative body of sculpture using repurposed material. This book looks at over 80 sculptures, drawings, and film stills, from whale skeletons composed of white plastic chairs and gas cans decorated with floral bead-work designs to totem pole-like forms constructed out of golf bags and Northwest Coast masks made out of repurposed sneakers. The book also includes a selection of archival materials including photographs, images of the artist working, unrealized works, and research pictures. Essays, an interview with the artist, and a timeline round out this generously illustrated book that details Jungen's deep material explorations which highlight a long history of inequality, a concern for the environment, and a profound commitment to Indigenous ways of knowing and making. This first major monograph on Guatemalan multimedia artist Naufus Ramírez-Figueroa (born 1978) contextualizes his works in performance, sculpture, drawing and printmaking of the past ten years. Ramírez-Figueroa's installations often combine sculpture and aspects of avant-garde theater to allude to traumatic events that have shaped the political climate of present-day Guatemala. Ramírez-Figueroa expands on references to literature, folklore, magic and childhood memories. For this catalog, Catherine Wood, Senior Curator of Performance at Tate Modern, considers the artist's work through the lens of performance art, while Guatemalan Garifuna poet Wingston Gonzalez takes up its connections to the legacy of experimental theater in Latin America. Natalie Bell, Associate Curator at the New Museum, contributes an essay surveying selected bodies of work, and Kunsthalle Lissabon directors João Mourão and Luís Silva contribute an interview with the artist.

HFT The Gardener presents the culmination of a project comprising multiple bodies of work by the fictional character Hillel Fischer Traumberg. Traumberg is an algorithmic high-frequency trader (HFT), who experiments with psychoactive drugs, and explores the ethno-pharmacology of over a hundred psychoactive plants. He uses gematria (Hebrew numerology) to discover the numerological equivalents of the plants' botanical names with companies in the Financial Times Global 500 Financial Index. He communes with the traditional shamanic users of these plants whose practices include healing, divining the future, entering the spirit world, and exploring the hallucinatory nature of reality. Traumberg develops a fantasy of himself as a techno-shaman, transmuting the spiritual dimensions of the universe and the hallucinogenic nature of capital into new art forms. He becomes an 'outsider artist' whose work is collected by oligarchs and bankers, the world of global capital in which he began.
