For the lawyer, the sheer bulk of legislation applying to the landlord and tenant relationship can appear impenetrable and fragmented. This book provides a systematic guide through the principles of landlord and tenant law, and an analysis of the various statutory codes applying to both residential and business tenancies.;This practical guide makes frequent use of examples to illustrate the effect of both the common law and legislation upon the individual occupier. The second edition is up-to-date with all recent changes in the law, and makes reference to the new Landlord and Tenant (Covenants) Act 1995 and the Housing Act 1996.
