H., held June 2, 1876, the proper votes were adopted "for the purpose of celebrating the Centennial Anniversary of our nation's independence," and Aldermen Murphy and Wiggin were appointed, on behalf of that board, as committee in charge. The Common Council, on the same day, concurred, and appointed Councilmen Seavey, Abbott, Hanson, and O'Neil, upon the committee.
