This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 5th European Semantic Web Conference, ESWC 2008, held in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain, in June 2008. The 51 revised full papers presented together with 3 invited talks and 25 system description papers were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 270 submitted papers. The papers are organized in topical sections on agents, application ontologies, applications, formal languages, foundational issues, learning, ontologies and natural language, ontology alignment, query processing, search, semantic Web services, storage and retrieval of semantic Web data, as well as user interfaces and personalization.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-workshop proceedings of the Workshop on Controlled Natural Language, CNL 2009, held in Marettimo Island, Italy, in June 2009. The 16 revised full papers presented together with 1 invited lecture were carefully reviewed and selected during two rounds of reviewing and improvement from 31 initial submissions. The papers are roughly divided into the two groups language aspects and tools and applications. Note that some papers fall actually into both groups: using a controlled natural language in an application domain often requires domain-specific language features.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 7th International Formal Ontologies Meet Industries Workshop held in Berlin, Germany, in August 2015. The 11 full research papers accepted for FOMI 2015 were selected from 18 submissions. The papers focus on theoretical studies of formal ontologies committed to provide a sound basis for industrial applications and to allow formal representation of corporate knowledge, and on business experiences in case studies that single out concrete problems and possible solutions in the creation and deployment of formal ontologies. Peacebuilders (the dove) face various constraints as they develop and share their knowledge (the owl). Based on research carried out mainly in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Cambodia, and the Philippines, The Owl and the Dove maps these elements in order to find out how peace workers can become more effective learners. It pays attention to exchanges with donor organisations, knowledge institutions and networks.The book makes concrete recommendations for capacity building, organisational learning, research, and networking, so that these activities may help overcome structural inequalities and constraints, strengthen the learning capacity of peacebuilders, and improve the global knowledge base for better peace policy and practice.
