This report is published every two years and provides a source of information about the Ohio River navigation system (ORS) and its commerce. The 1990 Ohio River navigation system report is organized in two sections. Part 1 offers general information on the inland waterway of the U.S., and waterway improvements and regional commerce associated with ORS. Part 2 contains detailed statistical data and analysis on Ohio Basin commerce and navigation project performance. A 1991 supplement to this report will update all the commercial statistical data found in Part 2.

Commemorates the 50th anniversary of the completion of a 9-foot navigational channel on the Ohio River, which was accomplished with the opening of Lock and Dams 52 and 53 in 1929.
