The Installation Restoration Program Guidance Manual was prepared by USAEC to provide guidance to the Installation Commander and his/her staff on implementing the Installation Restoration Program. The manual includes site identification, site nomination for funding, concurrent requirements, preparation of contract statements of work, and contract administration. It is not intended to replace or modify existing Army regulations or Headquarters Department of the Army directives but to supplement the requirements set forth in these documents. (AN).

The Installation Restoration Program (IRP) Management Plan provides guidance on the management and execution of the Army IRP and supplements roles, responsibilities, and procedures contained in Army Regulation 200-1 and the accompanying Department of the Army Pamphlet 200-1 (DA PAM 200-1). Note: The DA PAM 200-1 is being published and currently is only available in draft. This management plan implements the Army's IRP in accordance with the Department of Defense's Management Guidance for the Defense Environmental Restoration Program (March 1998). It applies to activities that are located in the states of the U.S., territories, and the District of Columbia. This document is not applicable to Army restoration activities overseas, the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Environmental Restoration Program or the Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS) Restoration Program.

One of the of the U.S. Air Force Installation Program (IRP) is to provide individuals responsible for the management and implementation of the IRP with information to evaluate the health hazards associated with actual or potential contamination of drinking water supplies. The IRP is to develop health and environmental information for each potential contaminant of drinking water supplies associated with USAF installations. This IRP Toxicology guide consists of four volumes. For each chemical in the IRP Toxicology Guide, the environmental fate, exposure pathways, toxicity, sampling and analysis methods and state and federal regulatory status are outlined. The material provided is intended as an overview of key topic areas; no attempt was made to provide a comprehensive review. Users are encouraged to read the Introduction to volume 1 of the IRP Toxicology Guide before applying chemical-specific information.
