How little they who organized this Territory, thought that in one hundred years to a day, near midway of that vast unbroken wilderness, there would be a city of seven hundred and fifty thousand people, and that in it there would be in session, a convention of Teachers numbering several thousands, gathered from a common country whose extent was from the Atlantic to the Pacific and from the Gulf of Mexico to the Great Lakes.
