In order to provide information on the concrete in the Carlyle Reservoir Spillway for record purposes, nominal 8-in. diameter cores were drilled from selected monoliths and shipped to the Lower Mississippi Valley Division Materials and Concrete Laboratory, Jackson, Mississippi, for testing. Cores were then selected for petrographic examination; and for testing for strength, durability, and linear coefficient of thermal expansion. (Author).
