The oral history interview of Margaret Dyer-Chamberlain is comprised of audiocassette and digital recordings and an indexed transcript of the recordings. The interview was conducted by Mary Donin on October 4, 2008. The entire interview runs for approximately 70 minutes and covers the period of time she worked at Dartmouth for President James Freedman, starting as an assistant provost, and promoted to associate provost in 1996 under Provosts John Strohbehn and Lee Bollinger. She left Dartmouth in 2001.

Margaret Flynn discusses life growing up in Harris. Margaret's parents owned a grocery store and a saw mill in Harris. She talks about religion, Native Americans, laws, and lumberjacks in Harris. Margaret also discusses the neighboring town of Bark River and briefly talks about Escanaba and Gladstone. She explains how the Depression and Prohibition impacted the area. Many people living in Harris, including Margaret's parents, were Irish. Margaret discusses how the Irish people honored birthdays and funerals. She briefly talks about the games she played as a child, dances, and getting married.
