(1) Autograph letter signed concerning tickets he is sending Winter and thanks for the introduction to Mr. Floyd. On letterhead of Niblo's Garden Theatre, New York and signed from Johnny. Annotation by William Jefferson Winter: "John T. Raymond to Wm. Winter (mentions Wm. R. Floyd) (March - 1882)." Letter undated but year of Winter's annotation possibly wrong as Floyd died in 1880. (2) Telegram sent from Raymond in Baltimore to Mr. and Mrs. Winter in New York: "Mrs. Raymond joins me in hearfelt sympathy in your sad bereavement." Likely referring to the death of Winter's son, Arthur. Dated Jany 25, 1886.

Clark writes of a missed appointment with Winter and mentions that they desire is to add a musical and dramatic critic to their every Saturday staff.

Whitcomb mentions the pleasure with which he read Winter's series of literary reminiscences in the Saturday evening post. He also points out that he and Winter are the only living persons who were connected with the Transcript contemporaneously. Also, an offprint of the February 27, 1908 article in the Boston transcript, announcing a tribute to Whitcomb and envelope addressed to Winter at the Tribune, New York City.
